TOMRA Press Conference IFAT
May 31 at 12:30pm, Press Center East 1 at Messe München
To mitigate the effects of climate change, we must put an end to our reliance on virgin materials and accelerate our transition to a circular economy, where materials are used and reused in a closed loop rather than being lost to the environment. An economy where waste is transformed into valuable resources.
As an industry impact leader, TOMRA has 50 years of experience, as well as the advanced technological solutions to support the waste management sector in this transition. TOMRA has closed the loop on plastics, and we are now ready to take on the next challenge: closing the loop on more material streams.
At our press conference at IFAT, we will detail what we achieved so far, and what we aim to do going forward.
Agenda - May 31
12:30 PM
The time to act is now - and we can!
Our current situation accentuates the urgency to move away from fossil fuels and closer to an unlimited use of renewable resources. Tove Andersen, CEO of TOMRA, will highlight how we can turn waste into value, reduce our dependence on virgin materials and support the realization of a net-zero system. The time to act is now and TOMRA will continue to play its role.
12:45 PM
Closing the loop on plastics
Transforming the way resources are managed requires technologies, but technology alone will not be enough to tackle our resource crises. Dr. Volker Rehrmann, Head of TOMRA Recycling & Mining, will explain the role of mandatory EPR schemes to drive change and how holistic approaches enabled TOMRA to close the loop on plastics.
12:55 PM
Closing the loop on metals and wood
Our resource crises is vast and so is the range of recyclable materials that we can recover and recycle. Tom Eng, Senior Vice President and Head of TOMRA Recycling, will outline the progress we have made so far, as well as the obstacles we need to overcome to additionally realize full circularity for metals and wood.
